What initially sparked your interest in becoming a nail technician?
Growing up I loved things all “beauty”. Whether it was experimenting hairstyles, makeup etc. I always looked up to my sister and was fascinated how she would always adapt to all beauty trends. So as I entered high school I decided to join Cosmetology school to feed into my interest in the beauty world. With practice I succeeded at what I do best, (nails) and ever since then it just an ongoing and learning process.
How long have you been working as a nail technician, and what inspired you to pursue this?
I’ve practiced nails for about 5 years now and I’ve been a licensed nail tech for about 2 years.
How do you balance your personal life with your professional commitments?
It’s honestly not as bad as it was when I used to work on someone else’s schedule. Ever since I opened my own business, I have the opportunity to be flexible and work on my terms while also making time for myself.
What do you find most rewarding about your job?
The relationships I build with my clients. I have clients that drive hours just to have a seat on my chair. It’s very rewarding knowing my art is appreciated.
How do you handle the creative aspects of nail design and tailor them to suit each client's preferences? The talent and creativity is insane
I always alter my work to the clients needs and preferences. It’s surprising how many people just want me to freestyle. It’s a bit intimidating, but we always go with the flow and end with such beautiful results.
How do you stay motivated and inspired in your work?
